When I start a specific job in pen and paper I have all these ideas of how this product will end up. I try my best to think of how it will be used and things such as the flow of color, or if type matches the style of art. All these thoughts moving in my head while I work on it. No matter what, I try my best to make sure every piece of that product stands on its own, and it's well thought out. So far, I have worked on very few product jobs for Hobby Lobby, but these are the ones I can say I have the most ownership. I poured my heart and soul into making these, and I can't be happier with the way they turned out. The best thing is seeing how people have responded to them, all the Instagram posts and the emojis with heart eyes, remind me of why I work so hard. I hope I get to keep making products for a long time, and that they keep bringing little joy to many many people. :)

-Packaging work-

"Don't judge a book by its cover" it's a metaphor that only applies to first impressions. In the packaging world, the quote should be: "Don't judge a book by its cover, ONLY." To me, first impressions are essential to any brand; from labels to boxes, they all say something about who is selling to us, and no matter what, we should use the advertising space and make the best of it. I've had the opportunity to work on a few packaging projects, and this past week I found one of my favorite projects in stores. WICKOLOGY is a candle line designed by Hobby Lobby's In House department; designed for a specific target and influenced by nature and sophisticated fragrances. I had a lot of fun working on this project, and I hope that the end result showcases it!

This was another packaging project I worked on, the task was to designed a generic look for driftwood. Executed under the art direction of the Digital & Print Team. (Hobby Lobby Corporate Office)

-Hobby Lobby-

Exciting things are happening for this store. I love walking and getting lost between its aisles, but most important I love knowing whats going on behind scenes, and being part of it. I have been working for almost 7 months in this company, I loveee my team and I am super proud of all the thing I've learned! I can do some calligraphy now, my patterns are tighter than ever, I can do a lot in little time, and I can manage several, and I mean several... projects. :) Here are some examples of what I like doing!
